This page is here to check basic things and avoid unwanted behaviour that would make the install process hangs without clear explanation messages.
((basic_verification.png|Basic verification))
Here are the checks :
* verify that path-to-wiclear/conf is writable by the web server. If that's not the case the install program will not be able to create the configuration file. If that test fails, the install program will refuse to continue : fix it.
* verify PHP-Mysql is installed. Wiclear uses MySql as its database backend. For Wiclear to work, PHP must have MySQL support. If that test fails, the install program will refuse to continue : install Mysql support for PHP.
* verify the session dir exist and is writable. If the session dir does not exist, Wiclear will attempt to create it. If it's not writable, Wiclear will try to create its own session dir. If everything fail, a warning will be displayed. This will not prevent the install program to run. This is because in some cases the session dir may really work but Wiclear was not able to detect it. Be aware that, if a warning is emitted at this step, things may or may not work : try to fix it.
If everything's OK (modulo the session check), the "Configure database access" will be accessible, leading you to the [next step|Database information] (click to continue).
